Ice-America is hiring for 2024 Seasonal positions (temporary): Supervisors, Skate Monitors, Skate Hosts/Greeters, and Cashiers for the Portland Winter Ice Rink

Ice-America will be producing the Portland Winter Ice Rink! Skaters and non-skaters alike are encouraged to apply for this fun and exciting event designed to engage the community during the holiday season!  

2024-25 Seasonal positions (temporary):

GENERAL MANAGERS:

Hiring Full-time/Seasonal General Managers with strong leadership experience in managing or supervising a team in a fast-paced environment. Must have vital customer service, communication, written, and organizational skills. Extensive knowledge of the ice skating industry, rink operations, productions, and/or competitions is preferred.

The General Manager acts as a brand ambassador and Company/City representative and must have the ability to maintain client relationships. Comfortable working outdoors in various temperatures and elements. Responsible for eliminating safety hazards, driving sales, reducing controllable expenses, scheduling, and the day-to-day operations of a temporary holiday ice skating event.

The General Manager will lead the operations team, overseeing all aspects of the staff practices, including scheduling/payroll and daily supervision. Cash handling oversight; cash register operations, daily banking, and nightly reconciliation following company policies and procedures. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred but not required. Having proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.

Compensation dependent upon experience, ranging from $24 - $30/hour ($1,680 - $2,100/week)

ICE TECHNICIANS:

Hiring Full-time/Seasonal Ice Technicians with experience in ice maintenance, ice resurfacing, skate sharpening, and mechanical skills. Having an understanding of refrigeration systems is helpful. Basic plumbing and carpentry skills are beneficial to the role. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Candidates will need to be self-motivated, have a strong sense of urgency, and possess the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are required.

Ice Tech will be responsible for day-to-day ice maintenance, resurfacing, and following Ice-America reporting policies. CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required.

Compensation depends upon experience, ranging from $23 - $28/hour ($1,610 - $1,960/week)
